Excursions and Activities


  All of the following excursions and activities are available within a 1 hour drive or less of Mora D´Ebre. Some of the organised activities may have to be booked in advance, and we will be happy to supple you with contact details, or make the bookings on your behalf.

Caves Meravelles,  Benifallet

Tour inside a mountain cave, and marvel at the colours, shapes and patterns produced by thousands of years of erosion. There is also a small restaurant and bar for you to enjoy after your experience.                                                              

 

 

Fishing trips

Take a guided tour in an open boat with an experienced angler who can show you all the very best spots to fish. A full days fishing experience. Equipment and bait not included. Subject to river conditions.
 

 Boat Hire

Hire a small open boat for the day to explore the lakes and rivers above the dams of Riba Roja at your own leisure. Spend the day fishing, exploring or simply enjoying the views. Some experience of boats an advantage. Subject to river conditions.

 

Off road experience

 Enjoy a countryside trek “Landrover Safari” with an experienced driver, discovering routes that only the locals know along little known mountain tracks. Experience spectacular scenery the way it was meant to be enjoyed.                                

 

 

 

 

Canoe trips

Take the opportunity to paddle your own kayak, with the security of being amongst a group of experts. You will travel together down the River Ebro from Mora D’Ebre all the way to Miravet, where you and your canoe will be transported back to Mora D’Ebre by road. A unique experience. Double man canoes also available. subject to river conditions.

 

 

 

Horse Riding

Enjoy the Catalunyan countryside at a more leisurely pace..  On horse back you will follow little known tracks as they were designed to be used.  Guided tours or beginners lessons available

 

 

 

Archery

Test your aim with experienced coaches in a safe environment

Hiking

Experienced guides will take you on some breathtaking walks into the surrounding mountain scenery. Don’t forget your camera!

 

 

 

 

Bike Hire

Enjoy the Catalunyan scenery on a guided bike trip or hire your bikes to enjoy at your own leisure.

Some Other Activity Ideas

Covered Swimming Pool, Mora D´Ebro

Open all year round and all day, this newly opened public facility offers a heated pool, gymnasium, Jacuzzi and sauna all for one single stay-as-long-as-you-want entrance fee

Public Swimming pool,  Mora D’Ebro

June to September only.  Three unheated open-air pools surrounded by lawns. A small entrance fee allows you to stay as long as you wish. Many people take a picnic to enjoy in the shade of the trees. There is also a small bar and restaurant.

Riverside Park and Barbecue Area
D
own on the waterfront in Mora D’Ebre you will find a tree lined park with barbecue pits, picnic benches swings and slides for the youngsters, and plenty of room to kick a ball around. Perfect for a summer evening.

Fishing
you are free to fish from any of the public areas or jetties in Mora D’Ebre or Mora La Nova, although a fishing
license is required. We can arrange this for you before or during your stay for only 17.90 Euros.

Woodland walks, Pratdip
 picturesque woodland area with loads of walks, picnic areas, café etc.(approx. 20 mins drive)

Mora D’Ebre Friday mornings, passeig del Pont
Mora La Nova Wednesday mornings, town centre,(15 mins walk or you can drive or catch the bus)
Hospitalet de L’Infant (20 miins drive, sign posted off the C44) fairly big Sunday market, next to a family beach
Bona Vista (a one hour drive. Sign posted off the N420 just Before Tarragona) Huge Sunday Market 8am-4pm

Handmade Pottery, Miravet A huge range of traditional and modern handmade  ceramics to buy, made on the premises, with a museum of pottery upstairs. You will find it on the right hand side of the main road from Mora D’Ebre just before you enter the village.       

Medieval Castle, Miravet For a small entrance fee you can enjoy this hilltop castle with all it’s history, and take in the fabulous views.  If you don’t like history the 10-minute drive is worth it just for the views alone

Traditional Ferry, Miravet   Take your car over the river on this traditional wooden ferry which sets you down on the road to  Ginestar or Tivissa in either direction.  If you prefer to enjoy the ferry as a foot passenger, you should go across the river and back again, as there is nothing but a main road on the other side these days.

 Wine Bodegas    Falset, Gratallops, Vinebre, Gandesa,
All the above local villages are famed for their wine production. You will find many local bodegas where you can sample and buy the very best that this region has to offer.

Delta of the River Ebro
A 40 minute drive down river to the delta where the River Ebro meets the Mediterranean reveals the vast, fertile rice paddies, bird reserves, wide golden beaches and upmarket marinas of this area..     

Port Aventura  Salou (approx. 1-hour drive)
 Huge Universal studios theme park with all thrills and spills you could wish for, Catalonia’s answer to Disneyland! Well sign posted from the N340 coast road  www.universalmediterranea.com

AquaPolis, Salou (approx. one hour drive)
Huge open air water park, with slides, water chutes,
Waterfalls, etc. Great fun for the whole family. Take a picnic, or buy food there. Well sign posted from inside Salou town. www.aquapolis.es

Roman Ruins, Tarragona (approx. 1 hour by car or train)
Tarragona was the roman capital of this region and is proud of its extensive Roman remains, which are well sign posted from the city centre..

Gaudi Architecture Barcelona (approx. 2 hour by car or train)
The Mora la Nova train will take you straight to Barcelona’s Passeig de Gracia station right in the centre of Barcelona.  In one direction you will find the famous Gaudi buildings of la Sagrada Famillia, Casa Batlla and la Pedrera.  In the other you will find the famous “Las Ramblas” shopping area, or buy a ticket on the open-topped tourist busses and see everything!  www.barcelonatourisme.com
